Rural development community programme
To expand the Rural Development Community Program ( Programme Communal de Développement Rural - PCDR) , the Local Rural Development Committee ( Commission Locale de Développement Rural - CLDR) will be set in motion on September 2009 for the benefit of the entire entity of the city.
The Local Rural Development Committee includes 30 to 60 members of the city from numerous fields, such as socioprofessional, economic, cultural, community and political. Each municipality will be represented and the Development Committee will establish internal working groups according to the interests of its members.
The Development Committee has the privilege to connect the residents and the municipal authorities; to inform the public; to maintain active participation; and to offer advice and proposals:
• by establishing synergies in the project selection;
• concerning the priorities of the people;
• in regards to any decision that concerns the Community Rural Development Program and its growth;
• as part of implementing concrete projects.
The Development Committee’s main objective is to provide a "better life" for the residents through new achievements of living standards and quality of life for the municipalities of the entity; it presents and aligns projects across the board, while taking care of specific problems of a delicate nature.
Open to everyone, it is the gathering place for rural development projects.
The participation of the citizens and their involvement is therefore particularly important. This call for applications is also open to the Leuze residents living in the city.
The Committee is required to meet with the chairman at least four times a year on average.
Anyone who is interested in participating in the Local Rural Development Committee is welcome to submit a written application by mail to: Mr. Hervé Cornillie, the Deputy Mayor for Rural Development, Hôtel de Ville , Avenue de la Résistance 1, 7900 Leuze-en-Hainaut ; by fax at: 069/66.56.65; or by email at
